Tasked with helping launch a new brand of protiein in an ever-crowded sports nutrition market, TDA_Boulder positioned Ascent as a cleaner, hard working alternative brand that values hard work and grit over flash, and empty promises.

Ascent Protein was created with the belief that protein and post workout recovery can be clean, effective and delivered with purity.

Finally, a protein that works as hard as you do.

In a landscape of ego-driven endorsements, we zagged and put the consumer in the center of our narrative. Launching as “The Official Sponsor of Hard Work” Ascent positioned itself as the champion early mornings, extra miles, and one more rep to achieve your goals.

We brought this message to life across the health and wellness space.

Digital and traditional media, affiliate programs and professional sponsorships all positioned Ascent at the protein that works as hard as you.

Sponsorships Big and Small

Guiding the brand sponsorship strategy, we deliberately sponsored athletes known and unknown. From the fittest on earth, to the guy you’ve never heard of in a local gym, we put our money where the hard work was.

We filmed with the Fittest Woman on Earth, Katrín Davíðsdóttir, on location at Crossfit Reykjavik

We also filmed with Ryan, who without knowing it, earned himself a Surprise Sponsorship from Ascent Protein.

To establish a sampling program beyond just handing out freebies, we infused the core brand message of being “The Official Sponsor of Hard Work” alongside the brands activation presence at Spartan races across the country.

We photographed participants and displayed their photos alongside their newly minted Ascent Sponsored Athlete status. Featured participants would go on to receive free product just for putting in the hard work.

National Print Launch

Shot on-location in real temperatures at actual times, the brand’s full-spread print campaign championed the cold-enduring, early rising, snooze-agnostic customers that put in the hard work day in day out.
